A posting in the Kitsap Sun, "Bail Bonds by the Bay," Posted By Chris Henry On April 23, 2009

This posting referenced Mayor Larry Coppola saying “This is a business that gives our downtown a black eye." Meaning that bail bond companies make Port Orchard look bad. The article also stated that the Mayor will make it so uncomfortable for bail bond companies that they will want to move.

We didn't realize we were such a problem for the city; now that we do, we moved out of the way. One of the readers suggested that The old Geiger Rexall building would make a good location, so that's where we went.

This posting referenced Mayor Larry Coppola as saying he didn't have anything against the bail bond companies. From this posting it would seem that the main problem that the Port Orchard Mayor has with bail bond companies is their office locations. Mayor Larry Coppola would like to have the downtown Bay Street area for retail stores. I guess that makes sense.
